There are many things that I could write about to update you on regarding our new building on Harrison. I could tell you that our new address is 3926 Harrison. I could tell you that a few members of our staff and elders visited the groundbreaking of the school next door to us today. But I want to write about your generosity to this project. As we move toward the end of the first financial quarter here at LifePoint, I am blown away by what’s happening. Giving through today has more than doubled in comparison to this time last year. You read that right: more than doubled!
My favorite quote regarding generosity comes from the late Billy Graham. “Give me five minutes with a person’s checkbook, and I will tell you where their heart is.” In my role as Executive Pastor of Operations, I oversee the finances here at LifePoint and have the privilege of seeing every donation that comes in and every bill that is paid. In a way, I get a small glance into your checkbooks each week. A privilege that I take very seriously, and a privilege that leads me to say thank you. Thank you for your heart being here at LifePoint. Thank you for heart being invested in leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus.
This building will be a building that you are helping to build. A building that you are sacrificing for and intentionally making decisions about. We are seeing new people join us on this journey as they make LifePoint their church home as well. This new building isn’t only being built by those of us that were here from the beginning, but it is being constructed by families that have made LifePoint their home in the last month as well. We are all playing a part in creating a space for people to come and encounter Jesus and a place they can call home. A place they can connect with others. A place they can pursue the truth found in Jesus. A place they can be sent out on mission to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ!
Your generosity is helping to create that place. I can’t wait to see what God will do through you and through our church as we continue to pursue him. Thank you for all that you are doing!
