This week we got to see the foundation poured for the new building. What an exciting moment! From a visual perspective, we are going to see a lot more construction happening over the next couple weeks – the walls will go up next week and the steel framing shortly after that! It’s so neat to see something that we’ve anticipated for so long actually happening.
With all of this construction I certainly won’t be the first, or the last, to say that LifePoint isn’t about a building – especially at a foundational level. The church is a people who have been built on the foundation of a redeeming Savior, Jesus Christ. This is why we sing lyrics like these at LifePoint:
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ name.
Weak made strong
In the Savior’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord
Lord of All
We believe our only hope in life and in death is Jesus. Seasons will come and go… Storms will rise and fall… but what remains… what holds it all together… carries the weight and bears the burden is Jesus. Anything and everything else is sinking sand.
Be encouraged by these words from the Apostle Paul,
“Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Put your trust in Jesus… make him your foundation… and you won’t be disappointed.
Likewise, be excited and eager for what lies ahead. As the contractors are building, so also is Christ building up His church.
