It’s that time of year! No, I’m not referring to pumpkin spice and hayrack rides. It’s time for LifePoint to send out your 3rd quarter giving statements. Ok, I realize that pumpkin spice and hayrack rides are way more fun than giving statements, but these are an important tool for both you and the church.
First, it’s a way to track your generosity to your local church. While there is never a time generosity shouldn’t be shown to our local church, this is especially important during this season in LifePoint’s history. I was trying to think of the last time a church building has been built in Quincy. I asked many of you that have lived here longer than I have, and no one could give me an answer. Our building project goes way beyond being a big deal for us. This is a big deal for our community, and the giving statement coming out next week helps you make sure you are giving in line with the Intention Card you turned in last year.
Second, the giving statements keep you and the church connected concerning your giving. If you ever see a discrepancy in what you believe you have given to LifePoint and what you see on your statement, please contact me ASAP! First and foremost, we want to get things right. It also is easier fixing mistakes now, rather than at the end of the year when you’re doing your taxes.
Finally, it’s a way I get to communicate with you regarding the impact of your generosity. It’s important that we remember the “why” behind our generosity and the giving statement headed your way, has a wonderful story included with it. Your generosity has had impact around the world for the spread of the Gospel and I can’t wait for you to read about it.
So, thank you. Thank you for being generous. Thank you for reading over your giving statement. And thank you for standing shoulder to shoulder with us as we lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus.
