With so much going on, I wanted to let you know some exciting news. Last week, LifePoint was able to send a teen mom, her child, and her mentor to experience a time away surrounded by love, fun, and the word of God through Young Lives. Young Lives is an organization here in Quincy that comes alongside teen mothers in a myriad of ways. One of their most exciting events is their summer camp. Mentors accompany teen moms and their babies to camp for a respite from the chaos of their daily struggles. Here, with their physical and childcare needs met, teen moms are immersed in the love God and can focus on their future. While Young Lives is not one of our missions partners, the missions team saw this as an opportunity to be involved in our community in a tangible way. This is just one example of what happens when you give to LifePoint.
We have just wrapped up the second quarter of the year, and if you have given to LifePoint during the 2018 calendar year, you should have received your second quarter giving statement. While that might not be the most exciting mail you receive, it’s an important way to say thank you and provide you with a way to track your giving and your Intention Card progress toward our One Fund.
As of June 30th, our OneFund balance is $1,308,577. This fund includes the money used for our general expenses and our new construction expenses as well. We are currently running a budget surplus of $148,711 through June 30th due to us operating around 14% under budget each month, which is great news.
With the construction of the 3926 Harrison campus is in full swing (walls to be going up soon!), it’s a good time to pause and remember the reason we are building a new campus. Our prayer is to reach into our community as we did with Young Lives this past week. To reach beyond our walls, not only here in Quincy, but to a lost world in desperate need of good news. The Good News found only in the love and grace found in Jesus Christ.
