Current Series || The Day The Revolution Began
When Jesus died on that Roman cross, nobody thought that He was a hero. Nobody celebrated Him. The crowds dispersed. The movement was over. Caesar still sat on his throne. The Romans were still calling the shots. Death still had the final word.
Oh so it seemed… but the earliest Christians had another story – an outrageous, unbelievable, scandalous story. They claimed that Jesus’ death was not the end of the revolution, but the very beginning. Jesus’ act of self-giving, self-sacrificing love is a revolutionary act. God’s Kingdom is unleashed. Death is overthrown. Sin has been defeated. Evil was dealt its death blow.
